Privacy Policy

Dalaman Hire Car · Dalaman, Turkey

Last updated: August 2026

Short version: dalamanhirecar.com is a comparison site, so we see your search, not your booking. We ask for no account, take no payment and hold no card details. Once you continue to a supplier, that booking is handled by them under their own privacy policy.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data dalamanhirecar.com collects while you use the site, why we hold it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website only. It does not cover the partner booking platform or the rental supplier you are passed to when you reserve a car, because from that point they decide what happens to your data and their own privacy notices apply.

Who is responsible for your data

Dalaman Hire Car operates this website and acts as the controller for the data described below. We are a small operation and we do not run a call centre, so every privacy request is handled by email at [email protected]. We have not appointed a data protection officer because the scale and nature of our processing does not require one, and requests sent to that address reach the person who can act on them.

What we collect

Search parameters. When you use the search form we process your pickup and drop off point, your dates and times, and any filter you apply such as transmission, car class or deposit preference. We need this to fetch live availability from the partner platform. On its own it is travel information rather than identity information, but it can indicate when you plan to be away, so we treat it carefully and we do not sell it.

Technical and log data. Like any website, ours records the requests it serves: IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and device details sent in the request headers. This is what keeps the site available and lets us spot abuse, scraping and errors.

Analytics data. We measure how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, roughly where in the world they are, and which listings get clicked. This tells us which guides are worth writing. Analytics identifiers are set through cookies or equivalent storage and are described in our cookie policy.

Anything you send us. If you email us, or submit a review or a message through a form on the site, we hold what you wrote and the address you wrote from for as long as it takes to deal with it. Please do not put payment card numbers, passport scans or licence images in an email to us. We never need them and we do not want to hold them.

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not knowingly collect special category data such as health or biometric information.

What happens when you continue to a supplier

When you click through to reserve a car you leave this website. The name, contact details, flight number, licence details and payment information required to complete a booking are entered on the partner platform and passed to the rental supplier. We do not receive your card details, and we do not receive a copy of your booking as a customer record. What comes back to us is commercial reporting: that a click from this site resulted in a booking, and its value. Because the supplier and the platform decide how that booking data is used, they act as controllers for it and their privacy notices govern it.

Why we process it and on what lawful basis

We rely on three lawful bases. Legitimate interests cover running and securing the website, returning search results, preventing abuse, measuring aggregate performance and reporting affiliate referrals. We have weighed those interests against your privacy and kept the processing to what a comparison site genuinely needs. Consent covers optional cookies and equivalent storage, including analytics, which you may give or refuse and may withdraw at any time. Legal obligation covers the limited cases where we must retain or disclose records, for example to satisfy accounting or lawful requests from authorities.

Cookies and analytics

Cookies and similar storage are used to keep the site working, remember preferences such as language, measure traffic and attribute referrals to the partner platform. Each category, what it does and how to switch it off is set out in the cookie policy, which forms part of this notice.

Who we share data with

We share data only with parties that help us run the service. That means the partner booking platform, which receives your search parameters in order to return live availability and receives the referral identifier when you click through; our hosting and content delivery providers, which necessarily process request data in order to serve pages; and our analytics provider, which processes usage data on our behalf. We may also disclose data where the law requires it or to protect our rights against fraud or abuse. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks for their own purposes.

International transfers

Some of these providers operate outside the European Economic Area, so your data may be processed in another country. Where that happens we rely on a transfer mechanism recognised under the GDPR, normally an adequacy decision covering the destination country or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses together with any additional safeguards the situation calls for. You can ask us which mechanism applies to a particular provider by writing to us.

How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as it is useful for the purpose it was collected for. Server logs are kept for a short period, generally measured in weeks, and are then deleted or aggregated. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form and the identifiers behind it expire on the schedule described in the cookie policy. Email correspondence is kept while a matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you write again about the same issue, then deleted. Search parameters are not stored as a customer record and are not linked to your identity.

Your rights under the GDPR

If the GDPR applies to you, you have the following rights, and exercising any of them is free.

One honest caveat applies to several of these. Because we do not run accounts, much of what we hold is not linked to an identifiable person, so we may need extra information from you to locate any record at all, or we may have to explain that there is nothing to retrieve.

How to exercise a right or complain

Send your request to [email protected], say which right you are exercising and include enough detail for us to find the data, such as the address you contacted us from or the approximate date of your visit. We reply within one month, and we will tell you if a complex request needs longer. If the request concerns a booking rather than this website, we will say so and point you to the supplier or platform that holds it, because we cannot access or delete their records. You can complain to your national supervisory authority at any time, including before or instead of contacting us.

Children

This site is intended for adults arranging travel, and car hire is not available to minors in any case. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to the systems behind it is limited to the people who maintain it, and we deliberately keep the amount of personal data we hold small, which is the most effective safeguard available to a site of this kind. No website can promise perfect security, so if a breach ever affected your rights we would notify the relevant supervisory authority and, where required, the people affected.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the service, our providers or the law changes. The version on this page is always current and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use your data we will make that clear on the site rather than quietly editing the text.

How to contact us

Privacy questions and requests go to [email protected]. Email is our only contact channel and we do not publish a phone number. For anything about an existing reservation, including its cancellation or the personal data held against it, contact the supplier or booking platform named on your confirmation.
